2025 YOUTH PROGRAMS

At CedarRoot, we view nature as our greatest teacher and the outdoors as our classroom. Our dynamic and highly regarded Nature Studies Programs encourage children to connect to the natural world, build confidence in the outdoors and learn attitudes of respect toward all of Earth’s creatures.

Summer Camp Registration Now Open!

SPRING BREAK CAMP
April 14-18
Ages 8-14

In this epic week-long camp, your child will uncover the mysteries and bounty of Spring with CedarRoot!  They’ll track wild animals, build shelters, create matchless fires, forage for wild plants, play forest games, participate in nature-based challenges and hop on a ferry and explore wilderness skills on Whidbey’s west-facing beaches.

SUMMER CAMPS

Our summer camps offer exciting, hands-on outdoor adventures for kids ages 5-14! From tracking wildlife and building shelters to mastering ancient survival skills, each camp is designed to engage and challenge young adventurers. There are opportunities to explore rivers, harvest wild edible plants, learn to safely use ancient projectiles, hone agility through forest gymnastics (and the list goes on!), all while gaining confidence, skills, and a deep connection to the natural world.

We encourage you to sign up soon as our popular camps fill up quickly.

(My son) absolutely ADORES CedarRoot. It’s the highlight of his week. Thank you to you, Ramzy and Diego, for being so great to (him). He’s a lot for much of the world and at CedarRoot he gets a break from being “too much” and just gets to be. You have no idea how important it is!
— Happy CedarRoot Parent
This program consistently provides an extraordinary depth of nature immersion, playful collaboration, independent skill building and social enrichment. It is our daughter’s favorite day of the week - and has been for years!
— Grateful CedarRoot Mama
CedarRoot has been a life-changer for our family. We have three children ages 17, 14, and 9 currently and all three have enjoyed the outdoors in their own ways. The new environments and new people, braving the outdoors together really brought out the best in the children.
— Inspired CedarRoot Family
In the age of competing screen time, having access to enjoyable “green” time is so vital. CedarRoot is a phenomenal program offering young people the ability to connect with nature and each other through games in the woods and stories around the fire. Being involved with this program has been enormously beneficial for my child’s personal development and I’m most grateful for the opportunity.
